Aluminium 5083 Forgings consist of 4.0–4.9% magnesium, 0.40–1.0% manganese, 0.40–0.60% silicon, ≤0.40% iron, ≤0.10% copper, ≤0.25% chromium, ≤0.25% zinc, with the remainder being aluminum. This alloy is renowned for its remarkable resistance to seawater and marine environments. In terms of mechanical properties, Aluminium 5083 boasts a tensile strength ranging from 275–350 MPa, a yield strength of about 125–200 MPa, an elongation of 12–20%, and a Brinell hardness of approximately 75 HB.
