Inconel 718 is a nickel-chromium alloy that also includes niobium, molybdenum, titanium, and aluminum. It boasts impressive tensile and fatigue strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and remarkable creep-rupture strength at temperatures reaching up to 700°C. The alloy is made up of roughly 52% nickel, 19% chromium, 5% niobium, 3% molybdenum, 1% titanium, and a bit of aluminum. With a tensile strength of about 1240 MPa and a yield strength of around 1030 MPa, Inconel 718 is not only easy to weld but also retains its mechanical properties in both cryogenic and high-temperature settings, making it ideal for demanding applications.
