What is Hastelloy B3 Bars and Rods?

Hastelloy B3 bars and rods are nickel-molybdenum alloys with an approximate 65% nickel and 28.5-30% molybdenum composition along with trace amounts of iron, cobalt, and chromium. This alloy has very good resistance in all concentrations and temperatures of hydrochloric acid, and other highly reducing media. Hastelloy B3 also has better thermal stability and fabricability compared to its predecessors. It has a typical tensile strength of about 760 MPa with good elongation properties. The alloy is resistant to pitting, stress corrosion cracking, and knife-line attack and is appropriate for application in extremely corrosive environments with strong acids and reducing agents.
