Sahil Metals is a reputable Riyadh, Saudi Arabia-based manufacturer and supplier of high-performance forged goods for companies that have operations in corrosive and high-stress environments. Among its specialty products are Hastelloy C22 forgings, which are worth their weight in gold due to their excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. Sahil Metals caters to industries like chemical process, pharmaceutical, marine, and pollution control by providing precision-forged parts to international standards. With a focus on material integrity, prompt delivery, and customer contentment, the company is a dependable source of long-lasting, high-quality alloy forgings.
Hastelloy C22 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with around 56% nickel, 20-22.5% chromium, 12.5-14.5% molybdenum, and 2.5-3.5% tungsten. It provides higher resistance to oxidizing and reducing conditions, such as wet chlorine, nitric acid, ferric and cupric chlorides. Hastelloy C22 forgings have high tensile strength (usually about 690 MPa), good ductility, and high resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. The alloy is mechanically stable in harsh environments and at high temperatures and is well suited for heavy-duty industrial applications.

Yes, Hastelloy C22 can be forged into custom shapes, as it has good formability and strength at elevated temperatures. However, it requires precise control during the forging process to maintain its properties.
The ideal temperature range for forging Hastelloy C22 is between 2,100°F (1,150°C) and 2,300°F (1,260°C). This ensures optimal formability and minimizes the risk of damaging the material's properties.
The forging process for Hastelloy C22 typically takes several minutes to hours, depending on the complexity and size of the part. The heating and cooling cycles also influence the total time required for forging.
Hastelloy C22 forgings are applied in severe service applications where maximum corrosion resistance and mechanical strength are called upon. Typical applications are valve bodies, flanges, pump parts, fittings, and reactor vessels in chemical plants, offshore platforms, and waste treatment systems. These forgings operate effectively in acidic and chloride-contaminated environments, which makes them best suited for systems subjected to severe chemical reaction exposure. With superior resistance to localized corrosion and heat degradation, Hastelloy C22 forgings provide extended service life and low maintenance for mission-critical applications in various industrial markets.
