Sahil Metals is a trusted producer and supplier in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, of high-performance metal parts for critical industrial processes. Among its niche products are Hastelloy B2 forgings, which are crafted to provide remarkable corrosion resistance in aggressive chemical environments. Suppling industries like chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, and marine engineering, Sahil Metals ensures that every forged item is of international quality standards. With a rigorous focus on precision manufacturing, integrity of the material, and timely delivery, the company is a customer’s preferred source for reliable alloy forgings for harsh service conditions.
Nickel-molybdenum Hastelloy B2 consists of about 69% nickel and 28-30% molybdenum with negligible iron and carbon content. It shows superior resistance to reducing media, particularly hydrochloric acid, and has better thermal stability compared to the previous alloys. Hastelloy B2 forgings have high tensile strength (approximately 760 MPa), adequate ductility, and stress corrosion cracking and pitting resistance. The alloy is not only mechanically strong over a broad temperature range but is also strongly resistant to knife-line and weld heat-affected zone attack, which qualifies it for severe chemical processing service.

To determine if Hastelloy B2 forgings meet your needs, evaluate their resistance to corrosion in aggressive chemical environments and their mechanical properties at the operating temperature. Perform tests such as tensile, impact, and corrosion resistance tests for assurance.
The forging process for Hastelloy B2 typically takes several hours, depending on the complexity of the part and the size of the material. It includes heating, shaping, cooling, and any necessary post-forging treatments.
The ideal temperature range for forging Hastelloy B2 is between 2,100°F and 2,300°F (1,149°C to 1,260°C). This range ensures optimal material flow and avoids excessive grain growth.
Hastelloy B2 forgings are typically applied in extremely corrosive processes that deal with hydrochloric acid, hydrogen chloride, acetic acid, and other reducing materials. Some of the common components are pump housings, valve bodies, nozzles, heat exchanger components, and flanges in chemical plants and drug manufacturing. Hastelloy B2 forgings function with consistency in conditions where other alloys suffer from local corrosion or chemical attack. Their high formability, strength, and corrosion resistance make Hastelloy B2 an ideal selection for forged parts that need long life, consistent performance in severe, acid-rich service environments.
