Tool and Die Steel S7 Bars are air-hardening, shock-resistant tool steels that typically contain around 0.5% carbon, 3.0–3.5% chromium, 2.0–3.0% silicon, along with moderate amounts of molybdenum and manganese. This unique blend results in a remarkable combination of high impact toughness, solid wear resistance, and decent machinability. S7 steel generally boasts a tensile strength ranging from 1400–1900 MPa and shows excellent resistance to softening at elevated temperatures.
